Policies

Thank you for choosing North Jefferson Academy of Dance. We will nurture their love for dance and baton in a caring, conservative, Christian environment. All of our instructors are qualified beyond simply having taken dance and have a special love for young people and the art of dance. Our studios all have top-grade, sprung dance floors for the safety of your dancer.

Registration Policies

REGISTRATION FEE(S): There is a $55 registration fee PER STUDENT. This fee is non-refundable and holds your dancer’s place in all classes for which you register them. CLASSES FILL QUICKLY. Registration is not complete without payment. If not paid within 24 hours, your dancer will be moved to a wait list. Students who took the FULL 2026-2027 dance season and/or summer 2026 at NJAD are guaranteed enrollment with registration fee payment in a class for their age until July 16^th. Open enrollment begins July 17^th.

ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS: Registration is held completely online. You must pay your full registration fee(s) ($55 per dancer) at time of sign up or you could lose your spot in selected class(es).

Upon registration, you are acknowledging that you are responsible for reviewing and understanding the information and policies on our website and within the registration packet.

Please note that recital fees and some class age breakdowns have changed this year to ensure every student has a place and to maintain required class sizes. It is very important that you carefully read all registration and class schedule information before signing up. Failure to do so may result in your dancer being moved or losing their spot in a class entirely.

Tuition

Tuition is based on a ten month year (August-May). For your convenience, you may make ten equal payments due your child’s first class of each month. First dancer’s tuition is full price. Additional dancer tuition is half price. A 10% discount is given on payment of a full year’s tuition made by September 15, 2026. Discount does not include registration fees or recital/theatre fees.

We accept checks, cash, credit cards at the studio, or online through PayPal to payments@njadonline.com or paypal.me/northjeffersondance. (Note: You will make payment to and receive a confirmation from GoWiPro, LLC.)

Tuition is non-refundable. In the event we must close for reasons beyond our control, we will offer make-up classes in some form to cover any we missed.

ABSENCES: Missed classes may be made up, but no refunds will be given.

DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS: A late fee will be added to any account over 7 days delinquent. If any account is more than 60 days delinquent, your child will not be allowed to return to class until it is paid to date.

RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a $30 fee on all returned checks. After one returned check, you may no longer pay this way.

DISCONTINUATION OF CLASSES: There is a required 2 week notice on all classes if your child wishes to discontinue dance classes with us. Please email this notice to info@njadonline.com. You will be required to pay tuition during the 2 week notice period.

Recital Fees

Recital/Theatre fees cover all costumes, recital at the Alabama Theatre, as many guests as you wish to invite to the recital, and a digital program. Recital fees are due by October 15th and are non-refundable. Important dates and closures can be found on the Dates page. In the event we must close for reasons beyond our control, we will offer make-up classes in some form to cover any missed and a recital will be held to the best of our abilities.

Fees are as follows:

• 3 year old-4th grade: $75 per dancer/per class (ballet/tap/jazz combo classes = one class)
• 5th-12th grades: $100 first class & $75 per each other class, fee is per dancer/per class (pointe fee includes tap & jazz)

Example:

Child 1: Pointe J ($100) + hip-hop ($75) + lyrical ($75) + Jr Dance Team ($75) = $375
Child 2: Elem 3/4 ($100) + hip-hop ($75) = $175
Total recital fees: Child 1 ($375) + Child 2 ($175) = $550

Recital Dates

Dance recital and rehearsals will take place the weekend of May 7th-8th, 2027. Dress rehearsal is mandatory for recital participation. There are NO exceptions. We are providing this schedule at registration so you can block off this weekend now and inform any coaches or other organizations that your child will be fully committed to NJAD for those dates.

Dress Code & Class Etiquette

Some important notes for all classes:

• Dress codes will be strictly enforced. Dancers not adhering to dress code will not be allowed to take class.
• Hair must be up and out of face for ALL classes.
• No baggy t-shirts allowed in ANY class.
• Midriffs must be fully covered.
• Legs must be covered to at least past the knees for ALL classes.
• Cell phones are not permitted for usage during class. If a parent allows their student to carry a cell phone, it must remain in their bag and turned on silent. Apple/smart watches may not be used for texting or checking notifications during class. A teacher reserves the right to confiscate any devices interfering with instruction.
• Bottled water only in dance studios.
• No food allowed in dance studios.
• Parents will not be allowed to wait inside the studio. You must drop your dancer off and pick them up at the main door. We do not have an observation window.
• Dance is a team sport. Your child’s class is a team. Consistent attendance is crucial for the success of your child andthe entire class. Therefore, we reserve the right to deny recital participation or remove students from a class due to excessive absences.

DANCE APPAREL & SHOES: For dance apparel and shoes, we recommend Applause Dancewear in Homewood, AL or Forté Dance Essentials in Hoover, AL. No shoe fittings will be held at the dance studio.
