For over 40 years, North Jefferson Academy of Dance (NJAD) has been serving Gardendale, AL and the surrounding communities. We teach all levels of ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip-hop, dance team prep, lyrical, and baton twirling. We accept students ages 3-18 years of age for our classes. We are a conservative, recreational dance and baton twirling studio with an emphasis on technique, strengthening, and encouragement. All of our instructors are qualified beyond simply having taken dance – they have a special love for young people and the art of dance. For the safety of your dancer, all of our studio rooms have top-grade, sprung, dance floors.
2024-2025 Important Dates & Closures
Monday, August 19, 2024: First Day of DANCE (*Tuition due your dancer’s first class of each month. Dance tuition is equally divided between the ten months of August – May.)
Monday, September 2, 2024: Studio Closed (Labor Day)
Tuesday, September 3, 2024: First Day of TWIRL (*Tuition due your twirler’s first class of each month. Twirl tuition is equally divided between the nine months of Sept – May.)
Sunday, September 15, 2024: Full tuition balances due to receive 10% discount
Tuesday, October 15, 2024: Recital Fees & Twirl Performance Fees Due
- $50 – 3 year old-4th grade per dancer/per class
- $100 first class & $50 per each other class – 5th-12th grade per dancer/per class
- $100 one-time twirl performance fee per twirl student
Thursday, October 31, 2024: Studio Closed (Halloween)
Friday, November 22 – Sunday, December 1, 2024: Studio Closed (Thanksgiving)
Thursday, December 5, 2024: Studio Closed (Gardendale Christmas Parade)
Monday, December 16 – Thursday, December 19, 2024: In-studio Christmas performances during regular class time (3-year-old – 4th grade ballet only)
Friday, December 20, 2024 – Sunday, January 12, 2025: Studio Closed (Christmas & New Year Break)
Friday, March 21 – Sunday, March 30, 2025: Studio Closed (Spring Break)
Sunday, May 4, 2025 2-5pm: TWIRL MANDATORY Dress Rehearsals & Recital, Location TBD (more information will be provided in spring)
Friday, May 9 & Saturday, May 10, 2025: DANCE MANDATORY Dress Rehearsals & Recital, The Alabama Theatre (more information will be provided in spring)
