INSTRUCTOR BIO: MS. HILA

I started dance at NJAD when I was 4 years old. I continued dancing at NJAD through high school. I participated in ballet, tap, and jazz classes throughout my time at the studio. Ballet was always my favorite.

I attended Mortimer Jordan High School where I was a Devilette for 4 years. I then attended the University of Alabama for my undergraduate and graduate studies where I earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education and a Master’s in Special Education. I taught at Bryan Elementary School for four years as a special education teacher. I am currently a student at Samford’s Beeson Divinity School studying in the Christian Counseling program.

Dance has been such an important part of my story over the years. The Lord has allowed me to make lasting friendships, learn life skills, make mistakes, and embrace creativity all through dance. It truly is a gift, and I want to foster those same qualities in my dancers as a teacher at NJAD! I’m excited to be back for my second season.
