For over 40 years, North Jefferson Academy of Dance (NJAD) has been serving Gardendale, AL and the surrounding communities. We teach all levels of ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary tap, hip-hop, dance team prep, lyrical/liturgical, and baton. We accept students ages 6 months to 18 years of age for our classes. We are a conservative, non-competitive dance studio with an emphasis on technique, strengthening, and encouragement. All of our instructors are qualified beyond simply having taken dance – they have a special love for young people and the art of dance. For the safety of your dancer, all of our studio rooms have top-grade, sprung, dance floors.
2023-2024 Important Dates & Closures
Monday, August 14, 2023: First Day of Dance (*Tuition due your dancer’s first class of each month. Tuition is equally divided between the ten months of August – May.)
Friday, September 15, 2023: Full tuition balances due to receive 10% discount
Saturday, September 30, 2023: Recital fee balances of $50 per dancer/per class due
Tuesday, October 31, 2023: Studio Closed (Halloween)
Friday, November 17 – Sunday, November 26, 2023: Studio Closed (Thanksgiving)
Thursday, December 7, 2023: Studio Closed & Participating in the Gardendale Christmas Parade
Monday, December 11 – Thursday, December 15: In-studio Christmas performances during regular class time (3-year-old – 4th grade only)
Friday, December 15, 2023 – Sunday, January 7, 2024: Studio Closed (Christmas Break)
Friday, March 22 – Sunday, March 31, 2024: Studio Closed (Spring Break)
Friday, May 10 & Saturday, May 11, 2024: MANDATORY Dress Rehearsals & Recital, The Alabama Theatre (more info to come)
